We are looking for friendly, outgoing, self-motivated people to work with our team in our retail nursery, garden center, greenhouse, and gift store.
If you love gardening and being outdoors, this would be the perfect job for you. Knowledge of plants is helpful, but not necessary. If you are willing to learn, we can teach you what you need to know.
Duties:
- Planting and caring for greenhouse and nursery plants.
- Assisting customers in the selection and care of trees, shrubs, evergreens, perennial and annual flowers
- Assisting customers in the selection of gift, garden and home décor items.
- Cash register operation
- Plant Maintenance, watering, fertilizing, grooming.
- Inventory management, pricing and display setup
Additional information:
- Must have a valid driver's license and dependable driving record (We will check your record for insurance purposes). Customer services include delivery of items.
- Must be in good physical health and able to do heavy lifting. We load our customer’s vehicles with all types of plants and materials.
- Must be 18 to drive company vehicles.
- Uniforms are required-Company will furnish shirts. Must wear closed-toed shoes. No shredded, torn or ripped jeans will be allowed.
- Company policy prohibits use of addictive drugs
- Company policy prohibits use of alcohol during work hours
- We are a smoke free company, smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises
Job Opening Date: Mid to end of February
Store Hours of Operation: Hours for this seasonal position start at the end of February when we start our plant production in the greenhouses. Seasonal work will continue until the end of September. Depending on our needs, this job may extend later into the year. We are always closed on Sundays in order for our employees to have family time. We may ask a person to do occasional plant maintenance on Sundays in the spring and summer months. We are closed on the following holidays: the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Expected Hours: Guaranteed 40-hour work week with up to 60+ hours during our peak seasons.
We pay 1-1/2 overtime hours
Wages: Depending on Experience
Payroll Distribution: Wages are paid on a weekly basis on Mondays for the previous work week
Company Discounts: Discounts are available after 30 days of full-time work
